Welcome to the City of Hollister's 4th annual Airshow! As the Mayor of the City of Hollister I would personally like to thank you for spending time in our city this Memorial Day weekend.
The Hollister Municipal Airport has a long rich history. In fact, our airport just celebrated it's 100th anniversary in 2012. During World War II our airport was used as a Naval air training center for many of the brave young pilots that went on to fly countless missions throughout the world during World War II.
Today, our airport is home to CalFire Air Attack Base and many aircraft enthusiasts who take great pride in our airport. Of course, with our rich history we have many historical aircraft that use our airport as their home as well as many groups and associations including the Hollister Airmen's Association and The Experimental Aircraft Association.
Most importantly, l would like to thank all the volunteers and staff that put in countless hours making this event possible. And a special thanks to our Airport Director Michael Chambless for his vision and dedication to this airport.
As you look to the skies this Memorial Day weekend, take the time to thank all those brave fallen fighter pilots that are looking down from the heavens enjoying the show with you.
