On behalf of the City of Hollister it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to our 2nd annual Air Show. I would like to extend my sincerest thanks to those who have traveled from surrounding cities and afar to celebrate this event in the City of Hollister.
The Hollister Municipal Airport is located at the north end of our city and is home to many airport-related businesses. It is home to the “California Department of Forestry Air Attack Base” which suppresses wildfires in 6 surrounding counties.
The airport carries a tradition in many of our local community's hearts. There are many pilots who call this place one of Hollister’s best kept secrets due to their love of flying. It is a local hub where many aviators young and seasoned alike gather to share their passion for aviation.
l would like to extend my deepest gratitude to our airport manager Mike Chambless, the Hollister Airmen's Association and the local Experimental Aircraft Association for their contributions, efforts and time in making this event possible as well as countless volunteers who are giving selflessly to this event.
I applaud all of those that are visiting us for the first or second time on this special occasion. I look forward to seeing you at the Air Show. I hope that you will take the time to enjoy all of the fantastic airplanes and all that Hollister has to offer you this Memorial Day Weekend!
